FAQ
All about splitRace
splitRace is a daily racing service that uses the classification system (ranks) to group drivers by performance and licenses, through the matchmaking system.
You can race daily by competing in our Seasons, in the most diverse Series, which will, with the progression of your driver's license, enable you to participate in the championships organized by SR E-Sports, the electronic sports division of splitRace.
Our system is designed to provide the maximum fun for the community at the lowest possible cost. Thus, most of our services are free, but in order to keep it that way, we are obliged to display advertisements (google ads) in this FREE plan.
More details about plans see our main page.
Our system is built entirely on features that are not available in the console versions. Unfortunately, given the limitations of Assetto Corsa Competizione and Assetto Corsa for consoles, we are unable to enable such platforms on our system.
splitRace seeks the practice of virtual motorsport seriously, that's why we prioritize the use of real and correctly spelled noes (capital initials only), preferably using only the first and last name (preferably hidden if you have more names). Remember these will be the names used on the race servers.
We recommend using your actual country of birth, although you can use one of your own.
When we register in the system we capture your profile picture from Steam, which will also be used here and will be displayed in the list of riders registered for each event. And finally your STEAMID, because it is with it that the server knows who you are, limiting access to the race servers only to those registered.
For you to request the deletion of your account you must keep an email through our contact form (clik here).
The splitRating (SRA) is an ELO-based rating. It has been used to rank chess players around the world for decades.
It basically compares you to every opponent on the lane, 1 vs 1. Your SRA is compared to your opponent's, taking into account whether you got ahead or behind. When you get in front of someone who has less SRA, you get less points. If you get ahead of someone with more SRA, you get more points. The reverse also happens, when you get behind someone with less SRA you will lose more points.
In the end, it adds up how much you won in the 1v1 account with all the riders on the track and gives you or takes SRA points.
Basically performance is key to raising your SRA. Getting into the first half of the grid is the best way to raise your SRA, but depending on your rank and that of your opponents, this may not guarantee an SRA gain.
Safety (SAF) is a rating that measures your safety level. So every time you get into an accident with another opponent or even crash your car into walls you lose points.
To earn points, the system takes into account the kilometer traveled. So for every kilometer you drive you get points and for every accident you lose points.
Following this logic, getting involved in an accident at the beginning of the race and abandoning it will cause you to lose a lot of SAF points, since you lost a lot of points due to damage, but you didn't walk the necessary mileage to earn SAF.
SAF points per kilometer = +18
SAF loss from damage = -11
The SAF is counted from the classification session. For it to be counted it is necessary that the race has at least 5 riders registered for the race. With 4 or less the SAF will not be counted.
Licenses act as access credentials. They allow access to different competitions as you progress through them. The available licenses are:
There is still a final level that is actually a special status reserved for the TOP 10 of pilots with a Professional license, called THE LEGENDS..
As it is awarded to the top ten drivers with a Professional license it is transitory, as with each race the SPLITRATING rating changes and you can earn or lose your status.
Licenses use SRA and SAF ratings as metrics. Confirm the minimum values for you to progress your licenses.
You will only progress your license as long as you reach the limits set out simultaneously in the SRA and SAF.
Licenses are updated daily at exactly 2:00 am (AM). So if you reach the limits for progression, you will receive your new license the next day.
FROM ROOKIE TO INTERMEDIATE
As everyone starts with the ROOKIE license it is important to understand that up to the INTERMEDIATE license the progression is based solely on the SAFETY (SAF) rating.
So if your focus is on getting the licenses as quickly as possible at this first moment, the important thing is to do clean races, as much as possible.
SAFETY (SAF) is calculated based on kilometers driven, that is, the more you ride, the more points you earn. He is already counting from the classification session. However, for every damage done to your car, either by an opponent or by hitting the wall, SAF points are deducted. At the end of the race, the total points are calculated.
FROM INTERMEDIATE TO PRO
When you reach the INTERMEDIATE license, your focus must be broadened, because to elevate the license to ADVANCED it is necessary to have performance. That is, you cannot run races without getting involved in accidents, you also need to have good results which are calculated based on SPLITRATING (SRA). Getting into the first half of the grip is critical to continue progressing from the Intermediate license.
Whenever you fall below the minimum SAF and SRA limits defined for your current license, the system starts a countdown of 07 (seven) consecutive and regressive days to restore these minimum values. Otherwise you will go down one level in your license.
Check the question about the requirements to upgrade the license to know the limits of each license.
The season consists of a period of competitions, which usually lasts for a certain number of weeks. Within a Season there are several events that are the daily races, endurance races, special events and the championships of SR E-Sports, the electronic sports division of splitRace.
Seasons from 2023 onwards will last 14 weeks, possibly varying as needed. The scores for the two worst weeks are discarded. For more details, see the item on how championship points are calculated.
The Series are formed by a set of daily races, which are accessed according to the driver's license level. See the lineup of the current Series that are available on splitRace:
STARTER SERIES
Minimum license: ROOKIE or higher
Run: 15 minutes
Maximum grid per split: 12 cars
Pit stop: no rules
Fixed weather: sun
SPRINT SERIES
Minimum license: BEGINNER or higher
Run: 25 minutes
Maximum grid per split: 24 cars
Pit stop: no rules
Variable weather: sunny to cloudy
WORLD SERIES
Minimum license: INTERMEDIATE or higher
Run: 40 minutes
Maximum grid per split: 36 cars
Pit stop: mandatory refueling (25s fixed)
Changeable weather: sun to rain
A track always enters the calendar on Monday and stays until the next Sunday.
Each Series forms a championship where the best race of the week (based on points obtained) will be considered. See item "How are championship points calculated?".
Posição | Pontos Fixos | Power Grid | Pontos Recebidos |
1º | 40 | 1900 | 76 |
2º | 37 | 1900 | 71 |
3º | 35 | 1900 | 67 |
4º | 33 | 1900 | 63 |
5º | 31 | 1900 | 59 |
6º | 30 | 1900 | 57 |
C) Drivers also receive higher scores in events with more than 25 drivers on the grid. The bottom third receives 4 more points per position. The middle third receives 6 more points per position. The top third receives 8 more points per position. The podium gets additional points (P1=3, P2=2, P3=1)
ROUND SCORE (WEEK):
A) Drivers can participate in as many races as they wish in a Round. To score just make a single Official Race in the Round.
B) Only the driver's best race in the Round will score in the championship, always based on the points received and not the finishing position.
C) Example:
The driver made 3 races in the Round, coming second in two stages and having won the other race. In the two that came in second he scored 72 points and 70 respectively. In the one he won he received 71 points. Consequently, the score that will go to the round (week) will be 72 points.
SEASON POINTS:
Seasons have 14 Rounds, and the driver will automatically discard the two worst rounds. As discard, the system will consider either those that the pilot did not compete or that simply performed poorly.
Divisions group riders based on their splitRating (SRA). The starting point is when the pilot makes his first appearance in the season. So, even if the pilot evolves or loses SRA throughout the season, he will remain in the Division he started.
These are the current divisions:
Division 1: SRA 1900+
Division 2: SRA 1800+
Division 3: SRA 1799-
Even competing mixed in daily races, drivers only score within their Division.
Splits are formed whenever the maximum number of cars on the grid is reached. Limits vary by Series. Taking for example the Starter Series that the limit is 12 cars per split, if there are 30 drivers registered for a given event, 03 (three) servers will be opened, thus forming splits #1, #2 and #3.
Riders are placed within each split based on SPLITRATING (SRA). Thus, of the 30 (thirty) pilots registered for the event, the 10 (ten) best will be placed in split #1, the 10 (ten) intermediates in split #2 and the last 10 (ten) in split #3.
As the SRA is based on the rider's performance over the course of the races, this grouping ensures more competitive and fun races for everyone.
There is no maximum limit to the number of events you can participate in. The more you run, the more likely you are to have a great Season/Series ranking score.
No problem for your license or ranks (SAF and SRA). You will only drop points in the Season(s) / Division(s) you are competing in.
Remembering that the system will discard your two worst weeks at the end of the season.
All driving aids are permitted. Remember that using them doesn't bring you any gain over your opponents, in fact the use of steering aids like stability and steering control slow you down when compared to drivers who don't use these.
Each license is directly linked to a category available in Assetto Corsa Competizione, which serves to facilitate the identification of drivers' licenses during competitions.
Check out the list below:
ROOKIE > AM Category (red background);
BEGINNER > Category AM (red background);
INTERMEDIATE > Category SILVER (gray background);
ADVANCED > PRO category (white background);
PROFESSIONAL > PRO category (white background);
LEGEND > PRO category (white background);
The car numbering is fixed based on the SRA order of the drivers registered in its split. So if you have #3 on your car, it means you have the third best SRA rank of the drivers on your grid.
SR-Esports is the division of splitRace responsible for professional E-Sports championships. In it you will find the highest level of competition, based on real competitions, with active race direction (from 2023), awards and live broadcast.
Our system is designed to provide the maximum fun for the community at the lowest possible cost. Thus, most of our services are free, where only some advanced features or competition areas of SR E-Sports require you to subscribe to paid plans.
To compete in SR E-Sports initially you must have an active GOLD plan and have a license of O at least an Intermediate license to participate in the SILVER Cup and Advanced or higher for the PRO Cup.
Once the above requirements are met, you just have to wait for the registrations to open to participate.

SR E-Sports competitions (from 2023) will be held with active race control. That is, the Race Stewards will analyze the incidents during the race and apply the penalties according to the current Disciplinary Code.
Cases that go unnoticed by the Active Race Control must be reported within the established deadlines and following the standard rules of the protest system in force at spltiRace.
To keep our competition environment as healthy as possible, your help is essential. Therefore, you can report the following situations:
As a general rule you should report accidents in which you are directly involved. Small accidents with irrelevant consequences should not be reported. If your case fits the above hypotheses, it is up to you to decide whether to file a protest. Dialogue is always important for everyone, after all, we all make mistakes.
The deadline for reporting an accident opens 24 hours after the scheduled start time. Once the deadline is open, you have 72 hours to do so. After this period, it is no longer possible to submit the protest.
You will need to search for the event you have performed using the Search menu.
Select Season > Round > Event.
Then it will open the race result just below. At the end of the result there will be a specific field for sending the protest. Pay attention to the protest requirements. If in doubt, consult them. There is a link with the explanations next to the form that you must fill out.
Penalties are set out in the splitRace Disciplinary Code and are applied to incidents that occur during our events. Remember that a healthy competitive environment is paramount to us.
Remember to carefully read our Disciplinary Code (clik here) and try to follow it as much as possible.
The decisions of the commissioners must be accepted and do not allow for re-discussion. There will always be a brief explanation of how the commissioners assessed the incident. Please understand that due to the number of reports being processed each day, we are not able to discuss all decisions later.
Of course, there may be errors in the decisions, only in the case of double penalties can we review the case. In this case, contact us through our contact form (clik here).
A permanent ban is an extremely rare situation and is taken with great care by a Commission.
Such a measure will only be adopted in very serious cases or repeated repetition (for example, insults, accidents caused intentionally, etc). So there will be no reconsideration.
